Miu Miu is known as a sister brand to Prada and less commonly known as an experimental line created by popular designer Miuccia Prada. Miu Miu as a brand has been promoting and supporting art/artists since 2011 with their first version of Tales and Tellers. The brand commissioned local artists and directors to curate films exploring unique experiences of womanhood and the different facets of femininity. The 2011 films laid the groundwork for the collaboration with the Palais d’ Lena in Paris that will be running until October 20th, 2024.

The exhibition was directed and curated by popular Polish artist Goshka Macuga who has a history working with Miu Miu and Prada. The exhibit includes films, live performances re-enactments, and video installations that immerse the observer into the stories, almost like a simulation. Tales and Tellers also includes an itinerary for panels of talks and conversations that will be exploring different experiences of femininity of anyone who identifies with a feminized body. Not only is this art exhibit a captivating experience, but the conversations being held also allow for real and open discussions.

Most importantly, these women’s stories through film, live performances, and conversation touch on important topics such as superficiality. One of the live performances titled “The Truthless Times” connects to the idea of superficiality through the truth being considered radical and that the news is enforcing mental gymnastics onto society. This is just one of the many unique views and experiences shared through the exhibit. Miu Miu wanted to give a large platform to different women from all over the world to share the antithesis of the female experience.
