Say goodbye to those basic navy and black suits! Saint Laurent is bringing us back to the 80s with color and style!
Saint Laurent’s men’s spring 2026 ready to wear collection is giving us monochromatic suits on the runway at Pairs Fashion Week. This show was on September 29th, 2025, bringing us 80s inspired looks with bold yet muted colors, and a variety of fabrics.

Saint Laurent is known for its luxury. Their men’s suits are a classic yet fashion forward staple. They are also known for their high quality products such as their tuxedos. They are also known for their use of wool, and for this show specifically using leather and other technical fabrics. You can see these luxury qualities come through and be shown in this season ready to wear collection.

The style and color choices of the suits shown in this collection are much different to what we usually see shown by Saint Laurent. The typical sleek black suits are not what we are seeing in this show. Instead, we see many different kinds of autumnal colors. These colors are bold yet still have a dusty muted look to them. Some of the colors we see are mustard yellows, plum purples, rustic orange, a dusty lime green, and different shades of brown. A lot of the looks we see are all one color with one piece as a different shade to add some contrast to the look. In another look we can see the plum purple suit with a purply blue button up top and a rusty orange tie. The color choice of the tie being a complementary color really makes the look very visually interesting. These monochromatic looks we see are what tell us the very 80s inspired themes going on. Designer, Anthony Vaccarello, said in a preview,
“I didn’t want to be stuck in that kind of darkness”
There is no use of black in this collection, only color.

The color of these suits is not the only feature of this collection 80s inspired. The silhouettes of the suits and the way they are styled also show resemblance to that time. The rolled up sleeves, strong shoulders, and tucked ties clearly show that inspiration very evidently. However, the dramatic tailoring of the Saint Laurents suits in this collection is no surprise and is very on theme for this brand.

Don’t get stuck in the darkness!
