Showcasing at the InterContinental Paris-Le Grand during Paris Fashion Week on October 1st, 2025, Balmain’s Menswear Collection for SS26 is nothing short of nautical extravagance and boho chic.

This show uses elements like texture and movement to convey over-the-top oceanic vibes. For instance, details like various puka, scallop, and conch seashells can be seen on the collars and sleeves of outer garments and bags. Golden brass embellishments, such as jewelry and bag and shoe accessories, are also truly bringing this aquatic saltwater-inspired runway to life. Most fabrics have a glossy or satin finish, making the models seem like they just stepped out of the sea. The overall shoe choice is a simple tassel-adorned sandal that fits marvelously with the obvious nautical theme. Accessories on the outfits like thick braided-rope belts, give the essence of washed-up couture and merman fantasy.
The creative director of the brand, Olivier Rousteing, quoted above, wanted to create a collection that was uninhibited and free but still high-fashion. No doubt he succeeded in bringing this whimsical vision to life. The fit of most, if not all, of the ensembles is flowy and loose, perfect for the salty spray of the ocean breeze. It’s greatly appreciated that Rousteing went for something very different for upcoming menswear; the silhouettes are still rather classic, however, how those silhouettes and shapes are created and which colors and textures are used is what makes this collection feel unique.
