Shanghai Fashion Week has just passed with different collections and many shows to watch from brands located in Shanghai, like 8ON8 Spring/Summer collection which featured a very outstanding and amazing show! 8ON8 is a contemporary menswear brand founded in 2017 by Li Gong. The focus being menswear which has a retro and modern look. As a celebration of 8ON8 eighth celebration, Li Gong decided to feature his collection in Shanghai Fashion Week
The catwalks of Shanghai Fashion Week start from October 9 to October 16 of this year, and the rest of the month focuses on trade fairs and events. The catwalks had many different designers featured during the week. What stands out from these shows are the beauty and interesting silhouettes of the designs and the creativity that comes from them.

8ON8 features a very nature inspired collection as the focus. The runways had an interesting set up and the opening of the show was something that was not the traditional opening of a runway show. The setting of the show was very bright. The floor was a tan which really added to the nature component to the show. In the middle of the catwalk there were two pillars with huge papers sticking out of them which made it interesting! In the opening of the show, you see models running instead of model walking. Which ties in with the title of “Runner of the Dreamer.” You also see them walking in a way where it makes an eight. After the opening of the show. The models start walking normally, which is interesting considering how the show started.

The clothes from 8ON8 features assorted designs for both men and women. The designs from the men’s designs consisted of button-ups, blazers, shorts, and pants. The collection named “Runner the Dreamer” featured athleisure clothing. The models wore sneakers which came in assorted colors like black, pink, green, and brown. The design of the collection features a more oversized instead of a fitted look. The models also wear sneakers and hats that are worn. The shorts have an interesting shape too, with the hem of the bottom of the shorts that is curved up. It adds to the uniqueness of the collection! The collection also features tops that are worn that reflect the runway with the peppers. One that specifically stuck out to me was a sleeveless top that featured houses and was bright colorful. It represented the nature aspect of the collection and could be a painting. The colors of the clothes were more earthy tones. They consisted of blues, whites, hints of green, yellow, and brown. Some of the designs feature more nature elements like a shirt which has peppers like the catwalk.
