With the Victoria’s Secret Fashion show closely approaching, Angel Reese was announced as the first professional athlete model as one of the newest angels for the 2025 Runway Show. Last year she was in the audience and now has been invited back as a Victoria’s Secret angel. Angel Reese is a Women’s National Basketball Associate (WNBA) player. Not only is she an athlete but she is also a model who has been featured on the cover of Vogue and has collaborated with Juicy Couture. Victoria’s Secret has made an announcement welcoming her on Instagram, posting her photoshoot with the caption, “Angel Reese, welcome to the runway. The first professional athlete angel…major is an understatement.” Angel Reese has also posted on Instagram expressing her excitement as one of the newest Victoria Secret angels, “Stepping into a dream: From Angel to a Victoria’s Secret ANGEL. I’m finally getting my wings. I’ll be walking the Victoria’s Secret 2025 runway show for the first time, and it feels like destiny. Wings on. Heels ready…Catch me on the runway”.
In Angel Reese’s interview with PEOPLE, she states, “It’s a surreal and full circle moment – just last year I was in the audience manifesting being on that runway, completely inspired and in awe of all the powerful women walking down the runway. And now I get to return as an Angel. This will be an unforgettable night that I’ll forever be grateful for.” Also adding how proud and excited she is to be the first athlete model for Victoria Secret. As a basketball player it is different from playing on the basketball court to walking the runway, but to Angel Reese, she wants it to be an inspiration to be able to do both. In her interview, she states, “I hope I can inspire women and girls everywhere reminding them that we can dominate in our field but also chase out goals outside of it – and for me, that’s getting to walk down fashion and entertainment’s most iconic runway.”
The show is set to be on October 25 of this year, with fans of the show being excited as this is the second show since the return of the shows. The Victoria Secret shows are known for their Angels, spectacular shows, and especially the big angel wings. The runway shows start as of last year with famous models and previous angels like Adrianna Lima and Kate Moss
